Hangovers are the worst. I’m a baby when I get one—which seems to be more and more common the older I get!—and prefer to spend the day on my couch in fetal position with a nostalgic movie like Beetlejuice on in the background. It’s a sad, sad day until my boyfriend finally agrees to bring me greasy French fries.
But that’s just the thing: Typically, my body doesn’t even want fries. It wants waterrr. Our bodies get so dehydrated when we drink that we what we really need (aside from a gallon of water) is something to replenish our electrolyte stash.
This smoothie isn’t going to magically make you forget that you sipped one too many cocktails the night before, but it will help revive you. The three ingredients each play a supportive role: a banana for potassium (particularly essential if you’ve had your head in the toilet), coconut water for electrolytes and potassium, and a pinch of ground ginger for nausea (if you’re really nauseous, drink this). So what are you waiting for? Get off the couch and get blending.
